    T. V. Soong (1894 –1971), also known by his Chinese name Song Ziwen, was famous for investing in the General Motors Corporation with money from the Chinese treasury. As an official of the Kuomintang from 1927 to 1949, Soong was known as the richest man in the world during the 1940s.

Tuhao, translating roughly to "uncouth nouveau riche," has been a popular word in China in 2015. Although tuhao is a relatively new word, it is not a new phenomenon.
