    The boxwood carvings of Gucheng County of Xiangyang City

    In July this year, the boxwood carvings of Gucheng County of Xiangyang City were listed as an item of provincial intangible cultural heritage.

    It is known that the boxwood carvings of Gucheng County came to flourish in the reign of Emperor Qianlong, Qing Dynasty since they emerged in the dynasties of Ming and Qing.

    Zhou Yinshan, aged 72 this year, has involved in the practice of boxwood carvings for over 50 years as a pass-on person.
