The Xiangyang Gleaners Folk Culture Workgroup has recently initiated the "Charity Crowd Funding for Machenghe Ancient Village" on Qschou (www.qschou.com) together with the Committee of Taiping Village, Donggong Town, Nanzhang County, Xiangyang city. The "2016 Machenghe Rural Art Exhibition" is planned to be held during the National Day holiday.

Machenghe is a natural village under the jurisdiction of Taiping Village, Donggong Town, Nanzhang County. With an area of nine square kilometers, it is a well-preserved ancient village. It took shape in the Ming Dynasty at the latest, and reached its great prosperity from the middle-late period of the Qing Dynasty and the period of the Republic of China. Originally inhabited by migrants surnamed Qin, Li, Zeng, Ao and Wang from Jiangxi, it is composed of traditional dwellings, ancient stockade villages, ancestral temple sites, the farming system, as well as ancient and rare trees.
