On December 19, 2015, the Great Hall of the People of Jingdong County was brilliantly illuminated and filled to capacity with distinguished guests, as a music and dance show kicked off with a chorus called "The Yi People's Many and Varied Voices in Jingdong County" in a big way to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the founding of Jingdong Yi Autonomous County and the Second Wuliang Mountain Carnival.

The two-day carnival last from December 19 to 20, 2015. A large number of activities were organized for the festival, including a variety show given by Jingdong County's Misaba Troupe that featured the indigenous songs and dances of the Yi Nationality; a top spinning competition; a carrying pole competition; a gladiator competition; the Wuliang Mountain Black-bone Chicken King Competition; a rite ceremoniously performed to pay homage to Confucius called "Book Fragrance Jingdong, The Humanities Hometown of the Yi People"; the "Wuliang Mountain Songs Sung to Three Stringed Instruments' Accompaniment" competition; the "Carnival Night" Yi People's Songs Competition; and other kinds of shows and performances unique to the Yi People.
