A grey-bearded Santa Claus from Finland, wearing red Christmas dress and wire-rimmed glasses, appeared in a cabin in Genhe, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Christmas Eve. He happily hugged every tourist, and signed and issued certificates to them for experiencing the cold weather of Genhe, China's coldest pole.

A young girl jumped with joy after receiving her certificate. "I am so excited! Santa is so tall!" she said.

This is the third time that a Santa from Finland has spent Christmas Eve in Genhe, a place sometimes termed China's "north pole". The annual average temperature there is minus 5.3 degrees Celsius and the record low temperature is minus 58 degrees Celsius.

Finland is the official hometown of Santa Claus, as recognized by the UN. Information shows that there are only 50 registered Santas in the world. Every Christmas, Santas living in arctic Finland go all over the world to spread the blessing of love.
