More than 40 reporters from home and abroad were invited to take a boat trip along the Gan river which goes through Nanchang, capital of east China's Jiangxi Province Thursday.

Historical sites and unique modern buildings along the river are numerous, displaying a mix of the ancient and the modern in Nanchang.

A night cruise along the river has become a must for visitors to Nanchang.
