    Huangzhou Guild Hall

    At the west of Huoxiangkou, Fancheng, Xiangyang City stands a very noticeable courtyard of Hui-style architecture that has blue bricks and tiles and towering gables. It is Huangzhou Guild Hall built by merchants from Huangzhou Faction during the Qing Dynasty (today’s Huanggang and surrounding places in Hubei Province) in Fancheng. It bears witness to merchants from Huangzhou Faction doing business in Xiangyang hundreds of years ago.

    Huangzhou Guild Hall is also called Huangzhou Temple or Huangzhou Academy of Classical Learning. It adopts not only traditional classical guild hall pattern during early Qing Dynasty but also a courtyard layout
