As the first police reality show, "Police Training Camp" has been co-produced by the Ministry of Public Security Bureau and the Society and Law Channel of CCTV, showing the fruitful results of combat training conducted by the Chinese police.

Unlike the other prevailing reality shows targeting pop stars, the contestants in "Police Training Camp" are all elites from the nationwide public security police line, including special forces, Interpol, community police, firemen and traffic police and so on. All the tasks in the program including car chasing, pistol against blade fights, and bare-handed sieges are all real, aimed at spreading positive energy among the audience and building up a good image of Chinese police officers.
