Instructors of the "Police Training Camp" show are all experienced senior police officers. They watch the whole process from an observation room, analyzing the practical significance of each player’s situation and task. Furthermore, they provide specialized reviews and special training guidance.

Through department recommendations, individual introductions, and online selections, the reality show first recruited nearly six thousand police officers all over the country. Then after screening, remote video interviews, re-examination (including skills testing, on-site interviews), outstanding police got selected to participate in the television program production. After several rounds of competition, players in the program have been weeded out one by one, the final ones will be eligible to win the "Golden Shield Star" honor.
