    Left behind children welcome the New Year by ‘painting’ monkey with buttons
    On Dec. 30, 14 left behind children in Haikou Primary School created a monkey painting with more than 10,000 colorful buttons to celebrate the New Year in Dexing city, east China's Jiangxi province. (Photo/People's Daily Online)

    On Dec. 30, under the guidance of their teacher, 14 left behind children in Haikou Primary School created a monkey painting with more than 10,000 colorful buttons to celebrate the New Year in Dexing city, east China's Jiangxi province.

    The activity is part of a green and environmental class in this primary school, which was popular among students.

    The 120cm long painting featured a golden monkey greeting 2016.
