Located in Shimian county of southwest China's Sichuan province, Mengzhong village is a traditional Tibetan village. The 15th day of the 11th Lunar month is the Shaifo Festival of local Tibetan people. Mengzhong village has two big Thangka Buddha paintings passed down from Tang Dynasty (608-907). On that day, they will bask the Thangka paintings in sun. It is the grandest ceremony of a year for the villagers.
