The first China Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Expo will welcome its guests with ancient ceremony. Various performances and activities showcasing the culture of the Tang Dynasty will be given by then.

The procedure to welcome the guests will be based on ancient Chinese etiquette as well as the procedure specified in the book "Kaiyuan Etiquette". It also adopts etiquette shared among the people in ancient times. Since 1994, nearly 100 such welcome ceremonies have been staged on various occasions, including those staged to welcome senior domestic and foreign officials such as former U.S. President Bill Clinton, and Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong of Singapore.
