    Chinese scientists find fossils of "Daishi ursavus"

    On August 4, 2014, the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences released the news that after an in-depth research on the ursavus fossils found in northwest China’s Linxia basin, the ursavus is confirmed to be a new species and is named “Daishi ursavus”. The research also reveals that the “Daishi ursavus” is the latest and most advanced ancestor of modern bears. (Chinanews/Deng Tao)
