Guo Sandui, 72, research fellow with the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, has conducted research in cotton breeding for 30 years.
"China's affairs should be handled by Chinese people. We must cultivate our own insect-resistant cotton varieties no matter how difficult it is," said Guo.
