"Awa People Sing A New Song" tells the story of Li Tianyou, a cadre sent to Ximeng to carry out poverty alleviation work in villages, leading the Wa people out of poverty that has plagued them for thousands of years, and fulfilling the promise of "Never leave a brother ethnic group behind."
