Nanning (People's Daily Online) - The 15th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) kicked off on Wednesday, Sept. 12 in Nanning, capital of south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. More than 2,700 exhibitors across China, ASEAN countries, and countries along the maritime Silk Road participated in the expo.
Tanzania, an African country along the Belt and Road route, has also been invited to attend as the Special Guest Country. This is the first time an African country has been honored as the Special Guest Country.
Initiated in 2004, the CAEXPO and CABIS have become essential platforms for promoting cooperation between China, ASEAN countries and beyond.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. The CAEXPO has set up a Belt and Road International Pavilion for exhibitors from countries along the Belt and Road route.
