Piled crude salt in NW China resembles hills

By Zhang Huan (People's Daily Online)    10:44, August 14, 2017

Crude salt piled up during harvest time in a village in Gaotai County, northwestern China’s Gansu province, resembles rows of hills, China News reported on Aug. 10.

The county holds 11.68 million tons of salt reserves, the largest in the province. It has been producing abundant mirabilite in summer months and crude salt in the winter since the Han Dynasty (from 202 BC to 220 AD).
