Eight people are dead and two others injured after a building collapsed at a construction site in Ejin Horo Banner, Erdos city of norther China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Tuesday afternoon, according to Xinhua, citing local authorities.
The incident occurred at around 17:20 p.m.
The eight people died after being sent to hospital.
An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
The local government deployed a joint emergency response team of police officers, firemen and medical workers for search and rescue operations.
The local fire brigade also dispatched over 70 firemen, eight fire engines and seven sniffer dogs to the scene.
