    College students from Chinese mainland and southeast China's Taiwan visit the former residence of Liu Mingchuan in Feixi County, east China's Anhui Province, July 11, 2017. Liu Mingchuan (1836-1896), born in Anhui, was a general during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). He led a successful resistance to French invaders of Taiwan in 1884 when the Sino-French war broke out, and the following year was appointed the first governor of Taiwan Province. (Xinhua/Liu Junxi)
