    Masterly paintings reflect festive moods

    (China.org.cn)    13:36, June 08, 2016

Editor's note:With the June 9 Dragon Boat Festival drawing near, an assortment of paintings by prestigious artists from China and abroad – such as Feng Zikai, Qi Baishi and Zhang Daqian – bring people back to the festive past.

"Selling Zongzi" (glutinous rice buns made for the Dragon Boat Festival) was painted by Feng Zikai (1898-1975), a renowned Chinese caricaturist and essayist who adopted a painting style that mixed Chinese and Western techniques. [File photo]
