    7,300-hectare mangrove trees protect south China locals (2)

    CHINA-GUANGXI-MANGROVE FOREST (CN)

    NANNING, May 31, 2016 -- Photo taken on May 18, 2016 shows mangrove forest on the seashore in Beihai City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Mangrove trees are densely scattered along the shoreline of Guangxi covering about 7,300 hectares. They can help hold back 80 percent of tidal waves and provide plenty of food and homes for birds and marine creatures. (Xinhua/Huang Xiaobang)
