New revisions connected to kindergartens in China have been released, including clauses covering abuse and children's safety.

The revised regulations stipulate that any abuse, discrimination or physical punishment is strictly forbidden.

Verbal abuse is also a focus of the new rules.

Kindergartens in China are also the focus of new safety and inspection guidelines, including limits on the number of students allowed in each school.

The new regulations cover areas such as guards, transportation, food and drugs, as well as a responsibility for kindergartens to track their students whereabouts, as well as the creation of mandatory emergency response plans.

Preschool staffer are also going to have to have a basic knowledge of first aid in case of emergencies.

The move has been prompted by a number of troubling incidents in recent years, including children being killed in overloaded buses, as well as schools lacing children's food with anti-viral medications to keep up attendance.
