The only eye hospital on train in China

China currently has about five million cataract patients, and the number keeps increasing by 10% annually. Most of them live in rural areas and cannot get treatment because of poverty. The Health Express is a charity project supported by Ministry of Health and China Lifeline Express Foundation. It is the only eye hospital built on the train in China. 

Equipped with the advanced eye care facilities, the Health Express consists of four carriages, which treatment rooms, laboratories, operating rooms, sterilization rooms, waiting rooms and wards. It has invited skilled ophthalmologists to perform free surgeries such as cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation for the poor patients.
