BEIJING, Dec. 28 -- The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPPA) has filed a formal investigation into He Jiacheng, former vice president of the Chinese Academy of Governance, who is accused of accepting bribes, it announced on Monday.

The SPP said it has taken "coercive action" against He, without giving details on the actions taken.

He was expelled from the Communist Party of China and dismissed from his post in the academy in November after an internal probe found he had taken bribes and ignored Party rules.

The academy is a ministerial-level institution directly affiliated with the central government. It is an important body for training high- and mid-level civil servants as well as high-level administrators and policy researchers.
