Bride-to-be rejected at marriage registration: Are you really the person on your ID?

Miss Yin, 26, and her boyfriend decided to get married and they picked a day in October to get registered. However, they were rejected at marriage registration because the officer thought Miss Yin was too beautiful.

It turned out Miss Yin looked much prettier in real life than her photo on the ID, so different in fact that the officer at marriage registration could not be sure that Miss Yin was the same person as the ID. Yin told journalists that the photo on her ID was taken when she was 16 - 10 years ago - and even though she had not had any plastic surgery, Yin still looked completely different compared with her ID photo.

Yin said it was not the first time that people questioned her looks versus her ID. Every time she took a test at college or needed to use a bank service, she had to go through these process. To avoid all the inconvenience, Miss Yin changed her photo on her ID four years ago, but somehow her photo in the national system is still her original one. The problem has been reported to the Police Department who have promised to solve it as soon as possible.
