    The second China-Japan-South Korea Renowned Reporters' Dialogue held in Beijing

    Cosponsored by People's Daily and Global Times, the 2nd China-Japan-South Korean Renowned Reporters' Dialogue was held at China National Convention Center in Beijing on Sept. 20, 2015. The theme of the dialogue is "Interconnection, Mutual Trust and Mutual Benefit—Future-Oriented Regional Cooperation in East Asia".

    Yang Zhenwu, president of People's Daily, said in his opening speech that history has proved that the interests and destiny of China, Japan and South Koran are inseparable. The future of the cooperation among the three countries is held in their peoples' hands. And the mission of media is to set up a bridge for them to understand and trust each other. The media of the three countries should join hands in maintaining the regional peace and stability through constructive news works.

    Wang Yibiao, secretary general of People's Daily, introduced that the dialogue will focus on four topics: the future of China-Japan-South Korea cooperation within the framework of the "One Belt and One Road" initiative, opportunities and challenges faced by the trilateral cooperation in the construction of "China-Japan-South Korea Free Trade Zone", changes brought to the world by China-Japan-South Korea cooperation outside the region, and "Pride and Prejudice" in the media reports of the three countries.

    Representatives of main stream media of the three countries attended the meeting, such as China's People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, China National Radio and China Radio International, Japan's Nikon Keizai Shimbun, Jiji News Agency, Kyodo News Agency, Yomiuri Shimbun, and Asahi Shimbun, and South Korea's Korea JoongAng Daily, Hankook Ilbo, Yonhap News Agency, KBS and Maeil Business Newspaper. 

    Lu Xinning, deputy editor-in-chief of People’s Daily was present at the dialogue.
