In old picture taken in 1942, Li Xingge feeds an injured soldier with a bowl in her hand and her 12-year-old daughter, Liu Jingying, stands behind the injured soldier.

During the war, Li Xingge was awarded as “Mother of Soldiers in Central Hebei” for what she and her daughter did to care of the injured soldiers.

Liu Jingying is 85 years old. She lives in Baoziying village of Anping county, north China’s Hebei Province. Although her memory is not good, she can recall many details about taking care of the injured soldiers together with her mother.
