Zhang Liu was born in 1995 in central China's Hunan province. In 2013 she joined the army and was sent to the Mukang inspection post in Yunnan province bordering on Myanmar. The inspection post is close to the Golden Triangle, an area known for its frequent drug-related crimes. The soldiers of this post have made great efforts to prevent drug trafficking in recent years.
