Models compete to be ‘China's Most Beautiful Seven Fairies' in E China

The fourth "Find China's Most Beautiful Seven Fairies" contest kicked off in Jinzhai county, east China's Anhui province, June 27, 2015. 14 female contestants from Hefei, Nanjing, and Wuhan took part in the event. They donned ancient costumes, presented swimsuits and showcased their respective unique skills in a talent show – all for a chance to be one of the "seven fairies" of China. In ancient Chinese folklore, the Queen Mother of Heaven has seven "fairy daughters," which are referenced in many tales involving romance with mankind.
