Beijing has invested 130 billion US dollars into cleaning air pollution.

Vice Premier Liu Yandong attended and delivered a keynote speech during the "Fourth Global Think Tank Summit" held by CCIEE on the 26th and 27th of June in Beijing. She said the Chinese government will invest 130 billion US dollars into cleaning Beijing's air.

She went on to say that the Chinese government is committed to putting forth a strong, concerted effort in strengthening environmental protection laws and regulations. They remain devoted to the construction of an ecologically harmonious society while promoting sustainable development. She feels that China's deep, comprehensive reforms and their widespread implementation will serve as the main driving force behind such sustainable development. Furthermore, she said, "China will always pursue a mutually beneficial strategy that remains open and transparent, as well as equitable, standardized and predictable."
