    Beijing bid team puts strong case for 2022 Games (4)

    Following are the major events for the 2022 winter games bid.

    November 11, 2013:

    The Chinese Olympic Committee formally announces its bid to the International Olympic Committee as a candidate city for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

    March 14, 2014:

    The International Olympic Committee officially announces 5 cities bidding to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games: Beijing, China; Krakow, Poland; Oslo, Norway; Almaty, Kazakhstan; and Lviv, Ukraine.

    July 7, 2014:

    The International Olympic Committee officially announces the 3 cities that have become candidate cities for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games: Beijing, China; Oslo, Norway; and Almaty, Kazakhstan.

    August 1, 2014:

    The entire Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games Bid Committee takes their very first picture all together, posed underneath the official bid logo which is designed after the Chinese character for Winter.

    October 1, 2014:

    With Oslo, Norway officially retracting its bid, the remaining 2 candidate cities for the 2022 Winter Olympics are Beijing, China and Almaty, Kazakhstan.
