Located in central China’s Hubei province, Tiantai Temple is famous for its Buddhist music. Young Buddhist monks and nuns play beautiful music with violins, cellos, pianos and other instruments. Playing Buddhist music is their way of self-cultivation. In 2008, Tiantai Temple formed its own band – Guangxuan Art Troupe, which now has over 40 members. The band is often invited to perform music and spread Buddhism outside the temple. (Xinhua/Cheng Min)
