According to Pu'er Daily, a meeting was convened in Pu'er City on March 27, 2015, to promote the development of its integrated traffic infrastructure in 2015. Wei Xing, Secretary of Pu'er Municipal Committee of the CPC, Liu Yiping, Head of the Department of Transportation of Yunnan Province, and some others attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

Although Pu'er has made some progress in developing its integrated traffic infrastructure in recent years, it is still weak and on a rather low level as a whole compared with the infrastructure of some other regions and with what the city's residents’ expectation, Wei pointed out in his speech. As a result, the city's infrastructure is far from meeting the needs of its rapid social and economic development, which constitutes one of the major factors that constrain the city's social and economic development.

Pu'er has a typical investment-driven economy, and as the new normal economic state takes hold, speeding up the development of its traffic infrastructure has already become an effective measure to encourage investments in fixed assets, Wei further stressed. Various government departments in th city should spare no effort to bring the development of the integrated traffic infrastructure across the city to a whole new level by employing new ideas, new concepts, and new methods, with a view to figuring out a new way of speeding up development by leaps and bounds.

Liu Yiping gave positive comments to what Pu'er had accomplished in developing its integrated traffic infrastructure. Traffic infrastructure is a prerequisite for rapid development and thanks to its enormous natural resources, Pu'er is well positioned to develop a tourism industry built around leisure and vacationing, which makes it vital to perfect the city's integrated traffic system in its effort to achieve excellence by environmentally-friendly means and speed up its development, he pointed out.
