The last guards of Songpu Bridge in Shanghai

The Songpu Bridge, which opened to traffic in 1976, is the only double-deck bridge for highway and railway over the Huangpu River in Shanghai. Soldiers from Shanghai Armed Police Corps have guarded this bridge since 1976. A new railway bridge to the east will replace the Songpu Bridge. Soldiers on the bridge have guaranteed the safety of the bridge and witnessed rapid development of Shanghai in these years.
