Nongyong primary school in Dahua Yao Autonomous County, south China's Guangxi was founded in 1964. The school is located in the mountains with harsh natural conditions, 110 kilometers from the county. With a small campus, Nongyong primary school takes the responsibility of the education of the children of 22 villages.

There are more than 250 students in Nongyong school, most of whom are separated from their parents who work in the cities. It takes some of them one or two hours to walk to the school. The dormitory in school was very simple; 30 or 40 children shared a room of less than 10 meter square. Some children even had to share one bed. Because the school is located in arid region, it had to collect rainwater on the roof for students and teachers to drink.

In recent two years, Guangxi has invested more than 3 million yuan to build and renovate new dormitories, canteen, water system, bathroom, library and toilet in the school. People from Guangdong, Beijing and other places donated stationery, beds, blankets, school uniforms and other school supplies to the children. The school’s condition has been greatly improved.
