BERLIN, March 26 -- Germanwings and its parent company Lufthansa have made a joint statement shortly after French authorities unveiled details over the co-pilot of the crashed Germanwings flight 4U9525.

"We are shaken by the upsetting statements of the French authorities," said Germanwings and Lufthansa in a statement by Twitter.

French authorities said earlier that the co-pilot was believed to have deliberately brought the plane to crash.

"Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the families and friends of the victims," said the statement.
