    Illegally exported Guanyin statue returned to China (2)

    During a ceremony at the Chinese Embassy in Canberra on Thursday, the statue of Guanyin, revered by Buddhists, was handed over by the Australian government, in accordance with a bilateral commitment to return and protect cultural property.

    The Qing Dynasty Guanyin statue of China illegally exported to Australia in 2013 is on display at the return ceremony held at the Chinese Embassy in Canberra, Australia, March 5, 2015.
