Chinese Premier Li Keqiang gave a speech at the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Jan. 22, 2015. His calm and relaxed address, according to Professor Guo Tianyong from Central University of Finance and Economics, offered reassurance and gave confidence to his international audience.

Based on the theme of the Forum "How can we face a new global context", Premier Li stated with honesty that while the meeting was being held in such a peaceful town as Davos, the world outside was far from tranquil. He also mentioned that China in 2015 would be facing some significant economic challenges.

Chen Fengying, the director of the World Economy Institute at the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations, commented that Premier Li was sending a message to the whole world of confidence, determination, and very positive energy on the development of China's economy, as well as wider international development. Li Daokui, who is a director of the world economy research team at Davos, told journalists that two American entrepreneurs, one in the food business, and the other in the sewage disposal industry, both said they felt relieved and had more confidence in China's economy after hearing the Premier's speech.
