Xian Famen Temple Cultural Scenic Area

Famen Temple, located in Fufeng County of Shaanxi Province, was built during the Eastern Han Dynasty (147-189A.D.). It was originally named "Asoka Temple." With a history of 1,800 years, it is considered the "Forerunner of the Ziggurat in Central Shaanxi."

In 1987, an underground palace was unearthed, in which the veritable Finger Bone of the Sakyamuni Buddha as well as more than 2,000 precious cultural relics were found, bringing the long forgotten history of civilization exchanges back to life.
