    The surrender of Japanese troops in Jinan and Kweisui

    Li Yannian, Commander-in-Chief of the 11th War Area, was authorized to accept the surrender of Japanese 43rd Army, Japanese 47th Division, Japanese 1st, 5th Independent Brigades, Japanese 9th, 11th, 12th Independent Cavalry Regiments and Japanese Navy Land Forces. On Dec. 27, 1945, Li accepted the surrender of Tadayasu Hosokawa, representative from the Empire of Japan, in Jinan, East China’s Shandong province.

    Fu Zuoyi, Commander-in-Chief of the 12th War Area, was authorized to accept the surrender of Japanese 21st, 24th Independent Cavalry Regiments and the Japanese troops in Rehe province. Fu accepted the surrender of a representative from the Empire of Japan in Hohhot, formerly known as Kweisui on Sept. 28, 1945.
