People attend a rally to protest against the attempt to exercise the rights to collective self-defense in front of the Prime Minister's official residence in Tokyo, Japan, June 30, 2014. Thousands of Japanese people gathered here Monday, protesting against Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's attempt to allow Japan's Self-Defense Forces (SDF) to exercise the rights to collective self-defense. The Japanese government sought to get a green light from the Cabinet on July 1 for a resolution that will allow Japan to exercise collective self-defense rights through reinterpreting the country's pacifist Constitution.
