    London, May 11, 2004

    On May 11, 2004, Elizabeth II met visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao at Buckingham Palace and both sides held friendly and cordial dialogue.

    Elizabeth II asked Wen Jiabao to convey her best wishes to Chinese President Hu Jintao. She said the two countries enjoy a very good relationship, not only close economic and trade cooperation, but also frequent personnel exchanges. There are many young Chinese studying in Britain, which is very helpful in facilitating bilateral relations. She also expressed hope that both sides expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
