Olympic champion Gao to lead China's speed skating team at World Cups
BEIJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Beijing Winter Olympic champion Gao Tingyu will spearhead China's squad at the upcoming International Skating Union speed skating World Cups.
According to a notice released by the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China on Wednesday, the 27-year-old Gao, who won the men's 500 meters gold at the Beijing Winter Games in 2022, will be joined by multiple World Cup title winner Ning Zhongyan and Han Mei, Yin Qi in the 27-member team which will take part in the World Cups in the United States, Canada, the Netherlands and Norway in November and December.
The first four World Cups of the 2025-2026 season will also serve as the qualification tournaments for next year's Milan-Cortina Winter Games.
