Trending in China | A world woven in bamboo: Sichuan-style birdcages

The Sichuan school of birdcage-making, one of the four major regional styles in China, crafts intricate bamboo cages known for their distinctive square-column design and delicate openwork. Originating in the Three Kingdoms period (220–280 AD), these artisanal cages are celebrated for their strength, elegance and harmony with nature.
