China opposes US restrictions on Chinese airlines, citing harm to bilateral exchanges

China on October 15 voiced strong opposition to US restrictions on Chinese airlines, warning that those restrictions would hinder personnel exchanges between the two nations. During a routine press conference in Beijing, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Lin Jian addressed the US Department of Transportation's recent proposal to prohibit Chinese airlines from flying over Russia on routes to and from the US.
