China urges U.S. to remove unreasonable tariffs for trade expansion
BEIJING, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- China on Thursday called on the United States to take positive actions, cancel relevant unreasonable tariffs, and create conditions for expanding bilateral trade.
He Yadong, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, made the remarks at a press briefing in response to questions regarding potential Chinese purchases of U.S. soybeans and Boeing aircraft.
The biggest obstacle currently affecting normal China-U.S. economic and trade cooperation lies in U.S. unilateral restrictive measures, He said.
He emphasized that the essence of the bilateral economic and trade relationship is mutual benefit and win-win, and that the two countries share broad common interests and vast space for cooperation.
It is hoped that the United States will work in the same direction with China to create favorable conditions for the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of China-U.S. economic and trade relations, said the spokesperson.
