Legendary Bites: A bowl of lamb soup worth waiting all year for

By Zhou Jinjia, Zhong Wenxing (People's Daily Online) 14:22, August 27, 2025

Under the scorching sun of the dog days of summer, the people of Xuzhou in east China's Jiangsu Province "fight heat with heat," eating lamb during Sanfu. Today, this once-a-year lamb feast has been recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage. Let's have a sip of lamb soup together and welcome summer in Xuzhou — with a good, honest sweat.
