An 8-minute guide to making Ding porcelain

    (People's Daily App) 15:57, June 27, 2023

Starting off making ceramics during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), the Ding Kiln thrived during the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). The kiln's name indicates its place of origin – Quyang county, which was then under the administration of Dingzhou, Hebei Province.

The traditional firing techniques used to make Ding porcelain is a local tradition in Hebei Province. In 2008, "Ding porcelain firing techniques" entered China's National Intangible Cultural Heritage list. From start to finish, this video documents how a Ding porcelain ware is born from the hands of craftsmen.
