Ximeng County in Pu’er City has gotten rid of poverty with the help of tourism. Over the past five years, the county has received a total of 4.5724 million domestic and foreign tourists, achieving a comprehensive tourism income of RMB 4.754 billion.

During these 5 years, Ximeng has been built as the one of the 21 demonstration zones of comprehensive tourism in Yunnan Province, tourism poverty alleviation demonstration county of Yunnan Province and Ximeng Wa Tribe provincial tourist resort. The Mengka Town and Mengsuo Town has been built as the tourism poverty alleviation demonstration county and featured tourism successfully. The Masan Village has been built as national key tourism village and the tourism poverty alleviation demonstration village successfully.
