OECD bullish on China's economic resilience amid coronavirus outbreak

    (Xinhua)    09:40, February 28, 2020

BEIJING, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) applauded China's efforts in fighting the novel coronavirus epidemic, saying that it still believes in China's economic resilience and its sound development prospects, an OECD official said.

Citing China's vigorous measures in curbing the spread of the outbreak, Pascal Saint-Amans, the Director of the OECD's Centre for Tax Policy and Administration, said things in China are starting to look up, no matter in epidemic control or resumption of work.

Against the backdrop of economic globalization, all economies are interconnected, Saint-Amans said, calling for closer cooperation between economies to minimize the epidemic impact.

He said he was deeply impressed by the preferential tax policies implemented by China's tax authority in solid support for enterprises' epidemic control and resumption of work efforts.
